lusting after...

...the pefect olive cargo skinnies (these j brands would do just fine)

...a white studded hobo

...black buckle-up leather wedges

... a black & white leopard scarf

yes... i'm still waiting for fall... and still think i'm crazy for it! aren't fall clothes & accessories so much fun though?

h&m fall 2010

for fall, h&m shows us that you can pair a few simple pieces together for a casual cool look. i especially love the idea of belting a button-up shirt or vest with a masculine brown leather belt. the wooden bangles and cuffs don't hurt either. perfect transitional dressing for right now :)

seeing purple

refinery29 just heralded the return of purple makeup and nails for fall 2010. i loved the looks on the runway that incorporated the shade into them. my favourite was from christian dior:

those lips! such a refreshing alternative to the standard fall red. paired with a soft purple wash of colour over the lid, major lashes, and a subtle pinky-mauve cheek, i think this look really complements the colours and textures of fall clothing. and it looks equally amazing on light and dark skin tones. with such a bold lip, you definately want the attention kept on one part of your face; don't overdo your cheeks or eyes. a soft purple or gold eyeshadow would look great with plum lipstick.
being inspired, i bought this amazing lip colour - sephora collection lip attitude in plum vertigo (the colour pictured on this palette in the bottom right corner). it looks almost identical to the colour the dior model is wearing and i love it! i probably would have never picked it out normally but i am trying to get out of my makeup box and was really inspired by the fall runway looks. i can't wait for the temperatures to drop a little so i can start incorporating it into my looks (again, am i crazy for wishing that?)

so... plum lips, yay or nay for fall? something that you will try?

day birger et mikkelsen fall 2010

in love with the looks from day birger et mikkelsen fall 2010. perfect balance of flowy & structure, masculine & feminine, casual & chic. leather abundance in leggings, shorts, and jackets. amazing platform black booties. bedheady wavy hair. untamed brows. nautical. denim. these guys nailed the vision of fall i have in my head. is it wrong that i'm wishing for it already?

zara fall 2010

most of the outfits in zara's fall 2010 lookbook were a little too blah and minimal for me. i did like this one:

simple, cute, and cozy..... with a pop of leopard. love it.

prints charming

prints have been abundant in fashion this spring/summer, and for fall 2010 it doesn't look like they are going anywhere. it's very common to see a tie-dye, graphic, tribal, animal or floral printed top with neutral pants and accessories. for those that are a little more daring and adventurous, why not flip those prints onto your bottom half? inspiration from the fall 2010 runways and street style:

 images from style.com

these pants might seem intimidating to wear, but they are actually quite fun and unexpected. printed pants will draw attention to your lower half, so if you are body conscious about this part of your body, this trend may not be for you. it's better to stick with trendier silhouettes such as a narrower leg or harem style; you don't want flowing, wide-leg pants that resemble pajamas. wear a basic neutral-coloured top (either fitted or a baggier top tucked in) and simple accessories to balance out the print on bottom.

the most important thing is to have fun with this trend; how could you not!

here is a small collection of pants to get you started:

stefanel fall 2010

daria = love. the girl can make nothing look wrong. so the fact that stefanel's styling was already stellar just adds to the love i have for it's fall 2010 lookbook. leather shorts, fringe, long knits, slouchy boots, bedhead, navajo inspired pieces. this is what i want my fall to look like.
